Chalkboard Effects: 1 of 4

Are you ready for lots of "dusty" inspiration this week?  :)

Today Jill will share how she used chalkboard effects for her background and Elizabeth will share chalkboard effects used for her focal point.
Creating a chalkboard effect for my background was simple!  On black cardstock, I used drew a line along each side using a white color pencil.  Next I added Memento Luxe Wedding Dress Ink randomly along the sides using my finger.  Viola! That's it!  The floral tag, Penny Black 30-288 Blooming Tags, was stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black ink, embossed with clear powder, and colored with ShinHan Art Touch Twin Markers.  The second tag was inked with Distress Ink (Wild Honey and Brushed Corduroy) and then the sentiment was stamped with VeraFine Onyx Black ink.  All layers were adhered using dimensional adhesive.  A bit of May Arts twine and a couple of pearls finish things off.

In my sample, the chalkboard effect is used as the main focal point.
After stamping Penny Black's Chalkboard Many Wishes in Tuxedo Black Memento it was scuffed with Wedding Dress Memento Luxe.  Hearts (From the Heart) were added as additional elements.  The tiny row of hearts was stamped in Wedding Dress Memento Luxe while the solid heart is a combination of Dandelion, Lilac Posies and Love Letter Memento Luxe inks.  The words were highlighted with PITT Pastel Pencils.  Layering the trimmed image with dimensional foam tape on a Rose Garden card base with a white mat completes the design.
