Same Stamp Challenge: In Paris with Jill

One stamp, one Studio, two designers, two cards... what will two friends create when they both reach for the beautiful Penny Black stamp, 40-609 In Paris?

I love a stamp that is truly unique and for me, In Paris, fits the bill.
To create my card, I used a stamp positioning tool (MISTI by My Sweet Petunia) and stamped onto Fabriano 140 Lb. Hot Press watercolor paper. I inked my stamp with a mix of Memento Markers and Tombow Dual Brush Pens.  Once stamped, I blended some of the stamping on the paper using a paintbrush and water.  I also added shading and accentuated the umbrellas, figures, and shadows using colored pencils. A light layer of sponging with Broken China Distress Ink was added to the sky as well as a touch of stamping with Penny Black's Posted with Love transparent set.  Finally, I stamped my sentiment (Penny Black Smile Today!) and added a frame cut from Penny Black's Antique Frames die set.  The frame was inked with Antique Linen Distress Ink using an ink blending tool and a foam pad.

Thanks for stopping by... and traveling to Paris with us! ;)

Double-take!
I, too, am smitten with the hedgie from Penny Black's transparent stamp set, 30-457 So Loved.
I had a blast creating this little scene... you can watch it all come together (and get a complete supply list) in THIS VIDEO on the Penny Black YouTube channel.

All hearts and love...

This little love note has three simple ingredients: a sentiment, a die cut and a cute hedgie.
The main white panel of the card was edged in Delicata Golden Glitz which gives a little pop against the black mat.  After coloring the hedgie with Copics it was fussy cut by hand.

For extra sheen and sparkle the red die-cut love notes were buffed with Pearlescent Red Pan Pastel and the white panel in White Fine Pearl Medium Pan Pastel.

Supplies:  Penny Black - Smitten 30-455, So Loved 30-457, Love Notes 51-406.

Happy Valentine's Day from our studio to yours!

Now it's my turn to share how I'm smitten with stamping and I am sharing two cards with a new stamp by Penny Black that has captured my heart, Crimson Blush.

For my first card I've stamped it around the perimeter of my card panel and painted it with a loose, no-line watercolor style.

Complete supply list and video available HERE.

And for my second card, I've still kept with the no-line watercolor look, but I've kept things a bit more detailed and traditional.

I loved Elizabeth's last card featuring her awesome stamped floral embellishment and such a gorgeous sentiment. WOW.  I wonder what she will be smitten with next...
