Hello summer!!!

This window greeting was created with a tri-fold card.

This allowed the window element to have a white backdrop while a message could be written under the inside flap.

A piece of acetate between the card and decorative paper provided the base to give the illusion that the sentiment is floating inside the window.

Same Stamp Challenge 2 of 2: Jill

One stamp, one Studio, two designers, two cards... what will two friends create when they both reach for the beautiful Penny Black stamp, 30-418 Stitched Flowers?

This stamp is such a JOY to color. So for my card I went with a very simple design.  I first stamped the flowers along one side of my card, stamping with VersaFine Onyx Black ink onto Strathmore 140 lb. hot-press watercolor paper.  Next, I painted the flowers and background using Distress Ink Reinkers used as watercolors.  My sentiment (Penny Black 30-406 All Great Things) was also stamped using VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

Thanks for joining us for this same stamp challenge... we hope we've brought a little springtime sunshine to your studio!

Same Stamp Challenge 1 of 2: Elizabeth

One stamp, one Studio, two designers, two cards... what will two friends create when they both reach for the beautiful Penny Black stamp, 30-418 Stitched Flowers?

What I noticed as I looked at this set was that not only were flowers beautiful as groupings, but they could also be used separately.

(Penny Black: Stitched Flowers 30-418, Birthday Love 30-413, Golden Moment Paper Pad 80-015)

For this greeting, a single stitched flower becomes a beautiful embellishment.

After the flower was stamped in tuxedo black Memento ink on white cardstock it was colored with Copic markers and fussy cut.  It was then attached to a larger piece of white cardstock with dimensional foam tape.  The sentiment was stamped underneath the flower in onyx black VersaFine and the edges of the cardstock were inked with a Marvy Premium Gold Ink Pen.

Lately, I find myself reaching for small elements of patterned paper to complement my designs.  This flowery piece of paper applied to the card base created a nice echo of flowers behind the main flower embellishment.

Stay tuned to see how Jill creatively "stitches" her flowers.
