I don't know about you, but I have lots of summer birthdays in my family.  Here's a simple *almost* one-layer design that is handy to have in my stash of completed cards, ready to go when I need a birthday creation.

Hello everyone!  Today I have a happy hedgie to share.

This little cutie was first stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then colored with Copics.  This particular transparent stamp by Penny Black has a coordinating die so my "fussy" cutting was easy peasy.  A lightly stenciled background (Patina) in blue adds some visual interest to the interior of the frame and anchors the small sentiment from the Snippets collection.

Supplies:  Penny Black - Just For You 30-424, Critters (Coordinating Die) 51-359, Snippets 30-283, Patina 25-018

More summer fun to come from Jill!

Every summer I dream of planting a garden full of flowers... but alas, it never seems to get done! Heehee! :)  But at least I have managed to "grow" some blooms in the craft room.

On this card, I've combined Penny Black's beautiful brushstroke stamp, 40-546 Dancing Daisies, with the die cut corner element, 51-351 Pop Up Floral Corner.  The background was painted with watercolors, stamped lightly with a script (PB 40-470), and then I also applied a light layer of gesso to tone down the script stamping and give it a slight white-washed effect.  The edges were inked with Distress Ink using an ink blending tool and a foam pad.
The main panel was stamped using my MISTI and Tombow Dual Brush Pens, blending the stamped impression with a paintbrush and water.
Stay tuned... Elizabeth will be back soon with more summer fun!

The radiant and prismatic colors of the summer sun were the inspiration for these cards.

Small watercolor paper circles were splashed randomly with Dr. Ph. Martin's Hydrus watercolors and then heat embossed with Ranger's Polysparkle Embossing Powder.  These were then placed behind card panels die cut with Stencil Cut.

The panels were edged with a DecoColor Premium Gold Pen and the sentiments were stamped in Onyx Black VersaFine.

The completed panels were attached to the card bases with 3M Dimensional Foam Tape.

Have a sun-filled day!
