Love Is In The Air, 4 of 4: Jill

Red and white, hearts and hugs, love is in the air.  Whether you are sending love to a friend, relative or a special someone, we have all kinds of heartfelt designs to share with you!

Today I have two tags to share with you, both with a love theme.  The first was created using the always fun emboss-resist technique.  The embossed images are from Penny Black 30-329 Tweeting Love.  I applied Distress Inks to the background.  Then I stamped the "grass" on the bottom using Penny Black 40-420 Pastoral and Olive Grove Memento Ink.
I had a blast creating this next tag.  Isn't it funny which projects really "get ya going?" The background on this was created with layers of Distress Ink, gesso, and stamping.  The die cuts were also colored with Distress Ink.

Tag 1: 30-329 Tweeting Love, 51-007 Tagged, 40-420 Pastoral, 51-027 Triple Banner, 30-283 Snippets, 30-240 Textures; Tag 2: 51-185 Sweet Flight, 51-180 All My Hearts, 30-274 Posted with Love, 30-238 Footnotes, 51-002 Leaves, 51-007 Tagged

Thanks for visiting us here in the Studio this month.  We hope love (and creativity!) continues to be in the air in your neck of the woods, too.

Love Is In The Air, 3 of 4: Elizabeth

Red and white, hearts and hugs, love is in the air.  Whether you are sending love to a friend, relative or a special someone, we have all kinds of heartfelt designs to share with you!

Another feature I enjoy about hearts and hugs is that they are great for creating cards for themes such as: "thank you", "thinking of you" or just "enjoy your day".

These two examples are very basic and emphasize how well die cuts can stand alone to create bold and colorful statements.

The arrow in this sample was woven through the slots in the pink heart and then layered on top of a solid red heart.
This was a fun design to send a special note to my sister.

Out & About with Jill and NEW Shimmerz Paints!

Hi all! I am popping in today with some fun news and to let you know that I am...
on the Shimmerz blog using NEW paints!
I have made three cards using this awesome new Shimmerz release.  For my first card, four new Shimmerz colors take center stage on the stamped butterfly tag, the focal point of this card design. “Under My Skin” is a definite go-to neutral which makes all the colors around it POP.  “Berry-licious” and “Crimson Tide” blend beautifully together.  And how about that bright, rich blue of “Anchors Away?” Swoon!  The background for this tag was easily created by spraying watercolor paper with Spritz “See Ya Latte” and then applying Dazzlers “Spun Sugar” through a stencil for just a touch of texture in the upper left hand corner.

Here's a closer look at the beautiful shimmer... so pretty in real life!
Supplies
Shimmerz: Anchors Away, Crimson Tide, Berry-licious, Under My Skin
Spritz: See Ya Latte
Dazzlers: Spun Sugar
Other Supplies: Penny Black Stamps and Stencil (40-328 Butterfly Party, 30-283 Snippets, 25-014 Oscillations), Canson 140 Lb. Watercolor Paper, Versafine Ink (Onyx Black), Clear Embossing Powder, Ribbon and Twine

My next card features the NEW Aqua Huez, watercolors with vibrant color and a flat finish.
And seriously, be still my heart! I love this new product line—bold colors, easily blendable, and oh-so-portable.  By stamping the butterflies with a water soluable ink and painting on top, the look achieved is that of a completely hand-painted panel.  And by painting with Aqua Huez “Gray Matter” around the stamped images, extra shadows and depth is given to the finished card.

Oh, and if you want to see a short informational video about the new Aqua Huez, I recommend THIS ONE by Missy Whidden.
Supplies
Aqua Huez: Ivy League, Crazy Daisy, Carrots, Blue Me Away, Hottie Pink, 1 Brick Short, Little Boy Blue, Cuppa Joe, Sea Weed, Gray Matter, Chesternut, Red Hot, Pot-O-Gold
Other Supplies: Penny Black Stamps and Dies (30-296 Floral & Feathers, 51-108 Envision), Distress Ink (Old Paper), Memento Ink (Grey Flannel), Canson 140 Lb. Watercolor Paper, Sequins

And for my third card, I've used the new Wood Tonez set.
Mixing and matching is easy with this dreamy new Tonez set!  The background for this card features all four Tonez mediums.  The stamped flowers were painted with Inklings “Mochachino” along with Shimmerz “Coffee.”  These two colors together are great for achieving light and dark range on stamped images.  I mounted my flowers to an Inchie Arts White ATC Art Square for extra dimension.  The Art Square was sprayed with Spritz "See Ya Latte."  I just love how I can add sprays to the Art Squares without worrying about warping or piling with the wet media.

Love Is In The Air, 2 of 4: Jill

Red and white, hearts and hugs, love is in the air.  Whether you are sending love to a friend, relative or a special someone, we have all kinds of heartfelt designs to share with you!

As soon as I was thinking about the theme of "love is in the Air" I just had to share this card!
The background was created by stamping Penny Black 40-094 Hearts All Over using VersaMark ink onto Neenah Solar White cardstock and then applying Pan Pastels over the top.  The focal point die cut, Penny Black 51-187 Triple Love, was colored using ShinHan Art Touch Twin Markers and then layered onto a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock, lightly inked with Ranger Archival Ink in the color of Aquamarine using an ink blending tool and foam pad.

Wishing you a LOVEly day!

Oh how true!  Love is always in the air and you can never give too much.

I made multiples of these cards to send to four special little girls in my life.  I wanted them to know how much they touch my heart.

I was able to make these little treasures in a flash by using the same card "recipe" for each design.

After watercoloring the girls (Penny Black: XOXO 30-330Goodness 30-327 Illustrated by Mo Manning) fussy cut them and then sprayed them with Krylon Clear Acrylic Coating.  I loved the effect.

They were then elevated on a small strip of Beau Jardins patterned paper.

The sentiment (Happy Hearts 30-326) was stamped in onyx black VersaFine and was surrounded by crystal Stickle dots.

This sentiment was perfect for the inside:

From the Heart
Wishing you a day filled with lots of X's and O's.
