Same Stamp Challenge: All Fours with Elizabeth

One stamp, one Studio, two designers, two cards... what will two friends create when they both reach for the beautiful Penny Black stamp, 40-606 All Fours?

One of the creative features I enjoy about rubber stamps is the ability to use the images in different ways.

In this case, the little puppies are off enjoying a snooze and the fashionable girl has been altered to carry a large flower.

40-606 All Fours, 30-470 Just Believe, 30-449 Berries Delight (flower), 51-416 Stitched Stackers
I am especially fond of this sentiment.  I feel it is beautiful inspiration for the recipient as well as a happy reminder for myself.

Same Stamp Challenge: All Fours with Jill

One stamp, one Studio, two designers, two cards... what will two friends create when they both reach for the beautiful Penny Black stamp, 40-606 All Fours?

My favorite thing about this stamp?  The cute heart details on each of the doggies!
And, as with all of the Penny Black fashion girls, I love the variety of ways their fun outfits can be colored.  On this card, I colored the girl and dogs with Copic markers and fussy cut them.  They were then added to a die cut and inked scene which also included a few flowers which I colored with Copic markers.

I can't wait to see what Elizabeth has in store for us with this fun stamp... stay tuned!

A "Resuscitation" Card with Jill

Ever have a card that turned into a disaster?  Yes?  Us too!  We will share our cards that were destined for the trash and were "resuscitated" with new life.
Sometimes when I start with creating a card, I don't have any idea in my head what the finished card will be. This is usually when I am just in the mood to color so I will stamp several images and paint them.  Then comes the challenge... hhmmm, how shall I put these on a card?

For today's card, I had stamped the flowers and birds from Penny Black's beautiful transparent set, 30-478 Sublime, and painted them with Distress Reinkers used as watercolors.  Because of how I had stamped/positioned them on my paper, I struggled with how to add them to a card and where to add the sentiment.  I had set them aside thinking perhaps they would just fall into the category of relaxing coloring...

But then came the resuscitation! Heehee!

I pulled out my Penny Black die set, 51-410 Frames, and cut out portions of my paintings to add within the cute frames.  Now I knew exactly how I could add these images to my card. I love how this layout turned out and can definitely see turning to it again and again.

A "Resuscitation" Card with Elizabeth

Ever have a card that turned into a disaster?  Yes?  Us too!  We will share our cards that were destined for the trash and were "resuscitated" with new life.

All I needed to do to finish my card, so I thought, was to add a shadow around the Blissful Blossoms.  That's when everything went south.
The shadow was too dark and looked awful.

Frustrated and discouraged, I decided to see if I could "resuscitate" the card.

I covered the original design with white gesso, re-positioned the cardstock in my MISTI stamping tool and started the process over again by repeatedly stamping the blossoms using Memento Markers as my ink source.

This time instead of adding a shadow, I lightly stamped Letter Background using Peanut Brittle Memento Ink.

The Stitched Stacker frame was edged in Delicata Golden Glitz and elevated over the artwork with dimensional foam tape.

I fell in love with the soft look of the design and now have a go-to "emergency" technique to revive other cards

Stayed tuned to hear about Jill's card "resuscitation".
