For my gold accent, I've kept things simple and have added one pop of gold to the center of my flower (Penny Black Creative Die 51-133 Camelia) using a CraftWorks Candi dot embellishment.

And you know what? That bit of gold is my favorite thing about this card!
And since I loved that bit of trendy gold so much, I think I will keep those Candi dots out on my desk so they can be incorporated into other projects. (I'm not the only person who forgets I have things if they aren't sitting in plain view on my desk; right?)
