Same Stamp Challenge: Cup of Java with Elizabeth

One stamp, one Studio, two designers, two cards... what will two friends create when they both reach for the beautiful Penny Black stamp, 30-475 Cup of Java?

This cup of java is perfect for a tag!

The tag was created by sandwiching the die cut present bow between two stitched rectangles.

Cup of Java was stamped on watercolor paper in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored with Grumbacher watercolors.  After fussy cutting the design it was glued to the front of the tag.  The sentiment was stamped in Onyx Black VersaFine.  A few twinkling dots were added with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen.

Here is a snapshot of the Penny Black supplies used:

The die cut bow not only makes a cute topper for the tag, but it also allows a string or ribbon to be looped through it which makes attaching it to a gift a snap.

The holidays are just around the corner and we are going to "tag" you with holly, jolly fun.

Today we are "tag teaming" on this post with ideas on how to incorporate a tag into a card design.

For my tag designs, I decided to go bright with lots of Penny Black Creative Die layers.
Here's a look at each individual tag.

And how did I incorporate my tag design onto my card?  Because my tags were pretty busy in design and quite bright, I kept my cardbase neutral and without pattern.

For my design, my double-sided tag was created from the "Tagged" die cut set and patterned paper from "Holiday Trimmings".  Two different sentiments from "Holiday Snippets" allowed me to customize the greeting.

The tag was then suspended with fishing line inside a framed window so the design could be visible from both the outside and inside of the card.

Tip/Hint:  One of my great discoveries was to find out that Penny Black's "Framed Flowers" creates the perfect window to showcase the tag.  No need to measure and use a craft knife to prepare the opening.

To add some texture to the frame, "Soft Grace" was heat embossed with white powder.

I decided to use the same stamp set (Penny Black 30-313 Twinkle & Wish)  as Elizabeth for my tag, too!
I just think little Mimi looks adorable decorating her house for the holidays and I couldn't resist coloring this image with ShinHan Art Touch Twin Markers. Before I know it, it will be time to get out my holiday decorations.  Eek! I'm not ready!

For my tag inspiration, I am going horizontal and working on a "landscape" format.

A few additional layers were added to the tag with segments of cardstock covered in patterned papers from the new winter paper collections called "Wintertime" and "Holiday Trimmings".

And who is that cute little girl?  Why it is the adorable Mimi from "Twinkle & Wish" standing alongside a fabulous greeting included in the "Season's Gifts" sentiment collection.
