Today I'm flying by with some summer butterflies.

These are from Penny Black's Creative Die 51-306 Butterfly Trio.  I painted mine with Distress Ink Reinkers used as watercolors.  I then backed them with vellum.  I like the way the light layer of vellum softens the background inking and stamping behind the butterflies. The effect is much more visible in real-life.

I hope your summer so far has been full of flutters and blooms and inspiration! I've sure been enjoying the sunshine.

Hey You....

...hope you are having a great summer!

This was a fun card to combine paper piecing, die cutting and shadow highlighting.

The envelope was paper pieced and layered with a fussy cut mouse colored with Copics.  A small highlighted rectangle inked in blue made a subtle backdrop for the die cut sentiment.
