Spooky Screams, 4 of 4: Elizabeth

Eeeeek!!! Do you hear the screams coming from the STUDIO? Don't worry, we are just getting excited for Halloween.  Or perhaps we're screaming because we ran out of chocolate... haha!  Join us this month as we share projects with a spooktacular theme.

Black cats can't be spooky when they're this happy!

Penny Black: Spooky Fun 30-371, Halloween Creatures 51-245, Dark City 51-167, Golden Moment 80-015
For this design, a dimensional window was created using Spellbinder's Reverse Wonky Rectangles, lime green cardstock, black cardstock and patterned paper from Golden Moment.  After the framing was completed, a portion of the die cut Dark City in black cardstock was attached along the inside bottom part of the window and on the outside portion of the patterned frame a thin line of Crystal Stickles.  The entire piece was attached to a white card base with Scotch Foam Mounting Tape.

The happy cat is from Spooky Fun which was stamped on white cardstock in Onyx Black VersaFine, heat embossed with clear powder and fussy cut.

And for some spook-tacular shine, amethyst watercolor Deco Foil by Therm-O-Web was added to the top of the "spooky" die cut from the Halloween Creatures set.

Happy Haunting!

Sometimes I just have to giggle while I'm crafting and when I saw Penny Black's Creative Die, 51-246 Silly Birds, I did just that!
Lots of inking and sponging was used to create my background.  The branches were stamped with Penny Black's transparent set, 30-379 Woodland Beauty.  For the sentiment, I stamped "boo" from Penny Black's transparent set, 30-249 Spooky Spheres, with VersaMark ink onto the PB Creative Die, 51-003 Chat Bubbles.  I sprinkled with white embossing powder and heat to set.  I then applied Spiced Marmalade and Wild Honey Distress Inks using an ink blending tool and foam pads.

I hope you have a little silly in your day to keep you smiling! :) Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for more spooktacular stamping from Elizabeth.

Going batty with a shaker card.

Penny Black: Spooky Fun 30-371, Halloween Creatures 51-245, Flower Pop Outs 51-230
A window was die cut in the front of a 4 x 5 1/4-in piece of white cardstock using Flower Pop Outs and then a piece of clear acetate was glued on the back to cover the opening.

On a separate piece of white cardstock, the verbiage from Spooky Fun was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  A circle was used for a "moon" mask while coloring was completed with Copics.   The finished piece was attached to a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base covered in black cardstock and positioned so it would align with the window created in the previous step.

Bats and a spider were die cut from black cardstock using Halloween Creatures and accented with Gunmetal Stickles.

A band of Scotch Foam Mounting Tape applied around the back of the window frame to create a pocket for the moving elements.  The spooky creatures were laid on top of the colored design area before the framed window box was adhered to the front of the card.

Next step.....shake away!

To kick off this spooktacular stamping, I've reached for Penny Black's Slapstick/Cling stamp, 40-479 Spidery Wishes.
I love the large size of this stamp... it's a card in itself! I began by stamping it with VersaMark ink onto Neenah Solar White cardstock, sprinkling with white embossing powder, and heating to set.  Next I applied Distress Inks (Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey, and a light touch of Fired Brick) to the background using an ink blending tool and foam pads.  I then splattered water onto the background and patted it with a dry paper towel.  To embellish the card design, I made some stamped faux washi tape using Penny Black's transparent stamp set, 30-161 Embellishements.  I also added a couple die cut bats from Penny Black's Creative Die set, 51-245 Halloween Creatures.

I can't wait to see what spooky stamping Elizabeth has up her sleeve... I wonder if it will be a trick or a treat!
